Dave Grohl records with Krist Novoselic and Butch Vig
Surviving Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic have reunited in the studio with Butch Vig, the producer that worked on the grunge group's seminal Nevermind album.
Vig revealed the news on Twitter last week. "The last 24 hours have been surreal!" he tweeted. "Had a great gig at the El Rey last night, and spent today recording with Dave, Krist and special guest!"
Although it's not clear what the trio are working on, Consequence of Sound points out that it might have something to do with Grohl's forthcoming documentary Sound City, about the legendary Los Angeles studio where classic albums such as Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, Neil Young's After the Gold Rush and, of course, Nirvana's Nevermind were recorded.
This isn't the first time Grohl, Novoselic and Vig have worked together in recent years. Vig produced Wasting Light, the last album by Grohl's band Foo Fighters, and Novoselic guested on the track "I Should Have Known."
