Rihanna cast in 'The Fast and the Furious' sequel
What could possibly tempt audiences to catch yet another The Fast and the Furious sequel on the big screen? How about Rihanna?
According to NME, the tabloids are rife with rumours that the pop star has been cast as the villain in the sixth instalment of the popular car chase film franchise.
A source told U.K. newspaper The Sun that producers were impressed by Rihanna's performance in the action flick Battleship and offered her the part.
"Rihanna impressed with her acting debut in Battleship," the unnamed insider said. "Writers think she’ll be perfect for the role. Her character has plenty of bite and doesn’t take any prisoners — just like her in real life. It’s a step up the ladder for her and could lead to bigger action roles."
The sequel will take place in the U.K. and production is set to begin in London and Southend this summer.
