Deadmau5 almost sets New York club on fire
Deadmau5 almost set a New York City nightclub on fire during a DJ set last Friday night (May 4). The Canadian electronic DJ (a.k.a. Joel Zimmerman) was debuting his new song "The Veldt" at the club Provocateur in the city's Meatpacking District when he lit an air horn and caused a huge spark.
"Omg I actually lived through that," he tweeted. "Nearly blew up myself and a buncha people in the booth. Pyros a bitch."
The New York Post reports that the crowd included model Hilary Rhoda and R&B singer Ciara. A line-up of 200 people waited outside the club where a seven-foot-tall replica of Deadmau5's mouse ears sat atop the entrance.
