Justin Bieber debuts "Boyfriend" video
Justin Bieber has released the music video for his latest single, "Boyfriend." The low-concept clip sees the teen pop star strumming guitar, referencing Michael Jackson dance moves and flirting with an entourage of sexy ladies during a rooftop jam.
The song, which hit number two on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart when it debuted last month, marks Bieber's foray into more grown-up music. It will be included on his forthcoming Believe album, which is due out on June 19 and will feature collaborations with Kanye West, Usher, Drake and Taylor Swift.
In an interview with MTV on Thursday (via Billboard), Bieber said that he wrote a song for his mother that likely won't make the final track listing. "I wrote a song for my mom," he said. "I don't know if it's going to go on the album but I think I'm going to put it out on Mother's Day. Just the struggles she went through and how brave she was and i think the world needs to know that."
He also discussed working with West, who sought to push him in new musical directions. "Just being in the studio with him, he's so creative. He's really smart," he said. "He wants to do records that people wouldn't necessarily think that I would do."
