Adele starts work on third album

Adele 8

British soul singer Adele is already working on the follow-up to her mega-selling 21 album but might delay its release in order to focus raising her child.

An unnamed sourced told British newspaper the Daily Star that the "Someone Like You" singer, who recently announced that she is pregnant with her first child, wants to take a hiatus from touring in order to protect her new baby from the celebrity spotlight.

"Adele loves performing but she doesn't feel comfortable being such a high-profile celebrity," the source said. "It all got a bit much for her last year and she wants to take a bit of time out of the fame game to be a normal mom.

"The last thing she wants is for her kid to become a celebrity baby or media commodity. Being a good mom is a lot more important to her than selling records and she's made it clear her priorities have changed now she's pregnant."

The source added that it will likely be a while before Adele performs live again: "She doesn't want to be traveling the world touring or promoting when she can be at home."

Producer Dan Wilson confirmed that he's started writing material for Adele's next LP. "We’ve exchanged a couple of emails about the next album," he said. "I am concentrating on writing as many songs as I can for her. I am building some tracks."

Asked to speculate on Adele's future tour plans, Wilson said: "She doesn’t need to tour. You don’t have to when you’re that successful."
