Green Day to release two documentaries

Green Day

Green Day will release two documentaries to coincide with the release of their album trilogy, Uno!, Dos! and Tre!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, that filmmakers Tim Lynch and Tim Wheeler, are creating a documentary on the making of the rock band's three albums, which will be released between September and mid-January, and a second documentary is being created about the band's early days using footage from their pre-Dookie days.

"It's not going to be the sitting down, head shot of me going 'we started out blah blah blah,'" front man Billie Joe Armstrong said. "We wanted to get into lifestyles of rock 'n' roll and playing rock n roll and letting the story kind of tell itself rather than create revisionist (history)."

The band hopes the making of doc will be ready in time to debut at the Sundance Film Festival.

Green Day will release the single "Oh Love" on July 16 and Uno! is due out on September 25.
