Katy Perry's movie flops at the box office
Katy Perry's 3D concert movie Part of Me opened in a disappointing seventh place at the U.S. box office over the weekend. The pop star's forray into film earned US$7.2 million from Friday to Sunday and has grossed a total of $10.3 million since its Thursday release, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Although the film is on track to make back its $12 million budget, industry watchers aren't hopeful that it will be able to touch the box office tally of a certain other 3D concert experience: Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, which earned $73 million during its theatrical run last year.
Not surprisingly, the big winner at the weekend box office was The Amazing Spider-Man, Sony Pictures' $220 million reboot of the comic book franchise, which raked in $65 million over the weekend and a total of $140 million during its first six days.

The ONLY reason Bieber's movie grossed 73M is because 25 Million screetching and brainless tweeny little girls bribed their mommies' to take them to that piece of farce. Same thing applies to his "perfume" sales. It's called "kiddie advertising" and mind control over the mindless masses.
Katy Perry has more potential as a film actress than blubbering Biebie will ever have.

I don't think a movie that makes back its money is a flop -- and what about DVDs, coming later? Lots of fans will buy those, I believe.
I saw it today -- sorry, haven't seen the new "Spiderman" movie, 'til I'm sure I won't be seeing the same story AGAIN (though I liked the original movies).
Katy's movie didn't have me doing reverse somersaults like an organ-grinder monkey, but I'm glad I saw it.

Honestly, Katy Perry is a sell out, she tries to be "weird", "wacky" "unique", but unfortunately as she is trying to be so ifferentfrom all artists, she starts to be looked at as trying too hard, her uniqueness comes of fake, she can sing yes, but who is she behind all the makeup, the revealing clothing, no one really knows.. I geuss in her movie it might show this, but who cares? I know watching the movie wont help me get through my life. I say eff katy perry, she wont be that famous in 15 years from now. Good bye wanna be unique person, like comon when your trying soooo hard to be soo crazy and different, it comes off as you trying too hard. Plus all her songs sound similiar and I cant stand them after hearing them twice. Her songs fluctuate all over the radio, she is annoying and I hope she loses her fame. U suck.

Even if the movie was a flop, I still think that it was good. I guess, some people didn't know that Katy has a movie that's why the film didn't earn a lot.
