Insane Clown Posse sues FBI over Juggalos gang distinction

Insane Clown Posse

Insane Clown Posse are taking legal action after the FBI branded their Juggalo fan movement  a "hybrid gang" in its annual National Gang Assessment report.

Gawker reports that band members Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope and their label, Psychopathic Records, announced during the annual Juggalos Gathering in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois last Thursday (August 9) that they've launched a website urging Juggalos that feel they have been treated unfairly by police as a result of the classification to submit their stories to be reviewed pro bono by the band's legal team.

The FBI report places Juggalos among groups such as the Aryan Brotherhood, Bloods, Crips and the Latin Kings.

"Now, when we come to your city to do a concert the f***ing government is saying that concert isn't a concert," Violent J told the crowd. "It's, in fact, a gang rally, which means to even get insurance on the building, the cost is through the roof becuase who the f*** is gonna insure 1,500 gang members to have a party in their club? Making it harder and harder for us to find places to play."

He added: "We're not attacking the FBI, but they got this wrong. The Juggalos are not a gang, and that needs to be fixed."
