Kanye and Kim star in MTV VMAs commercial

Rapper Kanye West and reality TV star Kim Kardashian have leant their comedic talents to a commercial announcing comedian Kevin Hart as the host of the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.

In the spot, the comic insists the trio attend the award show together in matching outfits and sneakers and attempts to think up a tabloid-friendly abbreviation of their names, which doesn't go over well with the much-talked about celebrity couple.

West is up for two nods in the Best Hip-Hop Video category for "Mercy" and "N****s In Paris." Toronto MC Drake and pop star Rihanna lead this year's crop of nominees.
