Randy Jackson kicked off "American Idol" judging panel?
Randy Jackson has reportedly been downgraded from judge to "mentor" on American Idol.
TMZ reports that the singer and producer (above, right) will be replaced by Nicki Minaj, though the eccentric rapper's deal is apparently "99% done" and "still not a sure thing just yet."
Citing anonymous sources, the celebrity gossip site states that some execs for the long-running Fox singing competition series feel Jackson is not suited to the mentor role but they need him because "he's the
glue that helps keep the show together."
The move has reportedly angered new judge Mariah Carey, who is co-managed by Jackson. "We're told the honchos are keenly aware Mariah Carey
isn't a fan of Minaj and doesn't want her at the table," the site says. "A fact
producers LOVE because they think the conflict and tension will be good
for the show."
Earlier this year, Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler and pop star Jennifer Lopez departed the judging panel after two seasons.

Well i won't be watching the show again. Started to get away from it when Simon

Well all these primadonna will only lower the number of viewers. American idol is about these overpaid singers that need to be back on the market, not about new young (and sometimes better) talents!

I also WILL NOT be watching the show anymore. It is really sad that they have turned what was once an awesome show into a piece of crap!!! Well guess I'll be tuning into "The Voice" and "X-Factor" bye-bye Fox!!!!

I think the Voice is a much better show and the judges are 100% better Idol was once a very good show and now not really worth watching they lost Simon and now its gone to the dogs

Although I am from Canada, and could not vote, I enjoyed American Idol.. but now that all the judges are leaving the show, I will not be watching it anymore. Having two young pop stars judging, who hate each other other is not a good move. Who wants to watch a cat fight every week. I will watch "The Voice."

This show is going down the drain faster than the Titanic.
So the producers would sooner have cat fights than focus on the talent.
What a dumbass move to get rid of Jackson.
Count me in as a lost viewer. THIS SHOW SUCKS the big one.

I'm done as well. While Nicky may be a very nice person, she gives the impression of being classless and tacky. I used to love the show but with so many other choices, Idol would be at the bottom of the pile if Nicky is made a judge. What's wrong with choosing someone with some history, talent and producing abilities...Barry Gordy, even Sean Coombs would be good. Shania Twain was great as a guest judge. Maybe they all realized that the "ship is sinking" and don't want to be seen as the cause.

Well well well...I didn't like the fact that Simon left as at least he would shoot straight from the hip...not wishy washy like J Lo or Steven Tyler...At least Randy Jackson gave the show some credibility still...now that , that's gone I won't be watching either. Nice Job.

I will also be another not tuning in to the show. I am not a fan of Nicki and would rather watch paint dry than a show with with Nicki as a judge. Get Randy back or the show is doomed!!!

I too have been a long time fan of American Idol and I am not a fan of Nicki and also, will not be tuning in to watch.

Well not sure how thats going to work who is the tthe third judge , I didnt think it would work without Simon and Paula either so I will watch it and then make up my mind.

Show sucks since Simon left and after 10yrs you get tired of the "dawg" - they should just let it die a peaceful death and let the new shows like The Voice who focus on REAL talent take over....

Since Simon left, this show has gotten worse and worse. Time to get rid of it...it's not a singing competition anyway. It's just a popularity contest. The girls voting for the cutest boy, and the boys voting for the most beautiful girl. It's ridiculous. Time to move on...

I have been patient with this show...now, i`m done, Simon has lost his touch and he is letting Big money take over an incredible idea he once had he needs to go back to a better time when he actually knew what the public needed. Nicki? Simon are you crazy take all the costumes and makeup and thsc chick is regular. what little talent she has does not qualify her to be a judge on american idol. Mariah plz don`t sit on the same stage as this chick you are so far above this simple B@#ch!

Agree with most of these comments. The judges now are all about a carrer boost, and with out Randy there is nothing left. And Nikki M? Really? NO More watching Idol.

What is wrong with you people? Did you really want a 2nd decade of watching Paula & Simon fighting like petty school kids? It's called 'fresh blood. ' Yes, i'm sorry to see Randy go, but everything in life has an expiration date on it. X Factor had lousey ratings in its 1st seaon and not suprisingly - Do you really want to see Mr Cowell sitting by a pool in a Beverly Hills mansion, flaunting his wealth, when he is suppose to be judging singers - No thanks! I'll stick to the original, A.I, until it one day says "Bye bye" from our television sets. Hopefully that's still many years away.
