Chris Brown's new tattoo looks like a battered woman

Chris Brown has a new neck tattoo that's causing a bit of controversy. During an appearance in Las Vegas earlier this month, the R&B heartthrob was photographed with the new design, which appears to be of a battered woman's face.

Sources close to the star tell TMZ that the portrait is of a "random woman" and that any resemblance to his ex-girlfriend Rihanna are "purely coincidental."

Brown was convicted of assaulting Rihanna two years ago following a now-notorious fight on the eve of the Grammy Awards. The two stars have since reconciled and shared a kiss at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards last week.

In related celebrity tattoo news, Rihanna recently inked an Egtyptian goddess on her chest as a tribute to her late grandmother.
