Beyoncé exits Eastwood's "A Star Is Born" remake
Beyoncé has dropped out of filmmaker Clint Eastwood's remake of A Star Is Born, Variety reports.
Sources told the publication that the pop diva's schedule is too packed and the lack of a firm date to begin filming was becoming too complicated. Warner Bros., the studio backing the film, had no comment.
The production was delayed last year when Beyoncé became pregnant so Eastwood took an acting gig in Trouble With The Curve during the hiatus. She was due to reprise the role made famous by Barbra Streisand in the original 1976 film.
According to Variety, Eastwood is considering jazz singer Esperanza Spalding as a replacement but he likely won't cast a female lead until he's locked in the male lead. Actors Bradley Cooper, Leondardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Christian Bale and Johnny Depp are rumoured to be on the director's wish list for that role.
