Justin Bieber robbery a publicity stunt for new video

Justin Bieber 9

It appears Justin Bieber's claim that he was robbed of "personal footage" during a tour stop in Tacoma, Washington earlier this week was a marketing stunt to drum up publicity for his music video "Beauty and the Beat" featuring Nicki Minaj.

As Gawker points out, the star got into a heated row with an anonymous Twitter user anamed "gexwy," who released two purportedly stolen videos online and then promised to release scandalous stolen footage at noon today -- the very time both he and Minaj had told fans to expect a surprise.

Sure enough, gexwy tweeted the link to the "Beauty and the Beat" video as scheduled.
