Kelly Clarkson: 'I'm voting for Obama again'
Pop star Kelly Clarkson, who got into a row with fans after she endorsed former GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul last year, has decided to vote for Democrat Barack Obama in the upcoming U.S presidential election next month.
"I've been reading online about the debates and I’m probably going to vote for Obama again, even though I’m a Republican at heart," she said in an interview with the Daily Star. "I can't support [Mitt] Romney's policies as I have a lot of gay friends and I don’t think it's fair they can’t get married.
"I'm not a hardcore feminist but we can't be going back to the 50s," she added. "Obama is a great guy. I've met him and I’m a fan of Michelle too. She has been busy promoting better education and healthy diets, which is something we could all use a dose of reality on."
The American Idol winner is preparing to release the greatest hits compilation Greatest Hits - Chapter 1 on November 19. The set will include a mix of familiar favourites plus three new tracks, including new single "Catch My Breath."
