Adele to sing "Skyfall" at the Oscars

Adele is confirmed to sing her theme for the James Bond film Skyfall at the Academy Awards next month.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show's producers revealed on Wednesday (January 23) the British soul singer will perform "Skyfall" during the February 24 broadcast, marking her first U.S. TV performance since last year's Grammy Awards.

The song is up for a Best Original Song award this year. Written by Adele and Paul Epworth, "Skyfall" is the first Bond theme to score an Oscar nod since "For Your Eyes Only" in 1981.

"It's an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again," Adele said. "It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once!"

Earlier this month, Adele attended the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles where she accepted an award for the song.
