Frank Ocean, Chely Wright up for GLAAD Awards

R&B star Frank Ocean and country singer Chely Wright are among the nominees for the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards.

Organized by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the annual event celebrates accomplishments by gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in TV, film, journalism and music.

Ocean, who famously posted a letter on his Tumblr page last summer describing his love for another man, is up for outstanding music artist alongside Adam Lambert, Scissor Sisters, Rufus Wainwright and Gossip.

Country star Wright, meanwhile, is up for outstanding documentary for her Showtime doc Chely Wright: Wish Me Away, which chronicles her decision to come out of the closet in 2010.

The GLAAD Awards will take place in New York on March 16, in Los Angeles on April 20 and in San Francisco on May 11.
