Frank Ocean may press charges over Chris Brown brawl

Frank Ocean 3

Frank Ocean is looking to press charges following an alleged brawl with ffellow R&B singer Chris Brown in Los Angeles, Reuters reports.

On Sunday night (January 27), police received a call about a fight that broke out between six people reportedly over a parking space outside a West Hollywood recording studio. Witnesses claimed that Brown punched Ocean during the altercation.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesperson Steve Whitemore told Reuters that the Channel Orange star is "desirous of prosecution in this incident."

Although Brown has not commented on the matter, TMZ reports that sources close to the star have denied he instigated the fight. Reps for Brown's lawyer also told TMZ that he is willing to talk to police and that they have a surveillance video of part of the fight that will apparently clear his name.

Brown is serving five years probation for assaulting pop star Rihanna, his on again/off again girlfriend, in 2009.

Following the incident, Ocean tweeted that he "can't play [with] two hands at the grammys" after cutting his finger. He is up for six Grammys this year, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best New Artist.
